Important Disclaimer: Forward-facing carriers are not always considered the healthiest or safest for infant hip and spine health, particularly for extended or frequent use.
If you choose a forward-facing carrier, consider the advice of many baby-wearing experts:
- Look for one with ergonomic positioning (with baby’s knees resting above their bottom, forming an “M” shape).
- Use only when baby is alert and awake.
- Use only with babies over four months old with head and neck control.

#4: Easiest Sling Baby Carrier
Wildbird Modal Sling
I’ll be honest: Ring slings did not come easy for me at first (keep reading for the YouTube tutorial that made it all “click”!).
One issue was stiff, bulky fabric getting caught in the rings. While a thick fabric may appeal to a seasoned slinger, recommend something thinner and more stretchy for a newbie.
